We are currently seeking a highly skilled Data and AI Architect with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure to join our team in the railway industry. This role is pivotal in modernizing and optimizing data for enabling AI capabilities to support safe, efficient, and data-driven railway operations.

As a Data and AI Architect, you will design and govern scalable, secure, and resilient data architectures across cloud-based platforms, supporting multiple domains such as asset management, operations, maintenance, and passenger experience. You will also lead the development and deployment of AI and machine learning models, enabling predictive maintenance, real-time analytics, and intelligent decision-making across the railway ecosystem.

Your architectural decisions will be strategically aligned with cloud-native services—such as Azure Synapse, Data Lake, Databricks, and Machine Learning—to ensure data consistency, discoverability, and cost-effective performance. By driving innovation and operational efficiency, you will directly contribute to improving safety, reliability, and passenger experience across the rail network.

  • Design and implement scalable, cloud-native data architectures to support evolving market needs, enhance operational efficiency, and improve customer experience.
  • Establish and enforce robust data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, integrity, security, and regulatory compliance across all systems and services.
  • Lead the development of an enterprise-wide data catalog and data pipelines to maximize data discoverability, reusability, and accelerate the delivery of data-driven solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and business stakeholders, to ensure integration of data and AI solutions into enterprise platforms and workflows.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain AI and machine learning models that extract actionable insights from complex datasets, driving innovation and business value.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering and analytics teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

What makes you a good candidate for this role?

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect, AI Architect, or in a similar role involving large-scale data and AI solution design.
  • Deep expertise in data governance, data modeling, and data integration, with a strong understanding of enterprise data architecture best practices.
  • Proficiency in AI and machine learning tools and frameworks, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or Azure Machine Learning.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms and services, particularly within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (e.g., Azure Synapse, Data Lake, Databricks, Azure ML).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to architect and troubleshoot complex data and AI solutions in dynamic environments.
  • Solid understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or ISO 27001 is a plus
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
